27.5 inch and 650B tyre fit guide

Choose 27.5 and 650B tyres by 584 mm ETRTO, width and use

Most 27.5 inch and 650B bicycle tyres use a 584 mm bead-seat diameter. The first ETRTO number still matters: a 52-584 and a 54-584 tyre fit the same rim diameter but differ in nominal width, casing volume and the clearance they need around the frame, fork, brakes and mudguards.

584 is the rim anchor

The second ETRTO number must stay at 584. A nearby 559, 590 or 622 tyre belongs to a different rim diameter even when an inch or old French-size label looks similar.

Width controls clearance

Moving from 47-584 to 52-584, 54-584 or a wider MTB tyre changes the space required. Check the old sidewall, rim-width guidance and clearance around the whole wheel before ordering.

Match tread, tube and use

Choose tread and casing for the real route: road, mixed paths, MTB or daily utility. Then pair the tyre with a matching 27.5 tube or verify the tubeless requirements shown on the product page.
